The City of Sedona is currently accepting applications for temporary workers.  Temporary positions will be available on an as-needed basis.

Once determined to be eligible for temporary employment, applicants will be contacted for specific assignments. Assignments may be office-based or field-based to fill in for staff shortages or to assist with a specific task.

Temporary employees fill in or assist a variety of City departments. Examples of recent assignments include assisting in the City Magistrate Court, Finance Department, Wastewater Treatment Plant administration, and City Maintenance.

Applicants will be interviewed to determine their suitability for positions.  Hired temporary workers may be called as needed to fill in or assist departments.

Ideal candidates will be familiar with modern office equipment and basic computer skills.  Candidates must also have excellent customer service skills.

  • Once determined to be an eligible temporary worker, there is no guarantee of assignment(s).
  • Temporary workers are not eligible for City benefits.
  • Temporary workers may be eligible for Arizona State Retirement.

Background check. All new hires are required to be fingerprinted and undergo an extensive criminal background check through the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Additionally, certain positions involve a preemployment drug screening and may include a physical.
