SEDONA, Ariz. – While the weather may be cold during this time of year, things are still hot in the pool. Join Sedona Parks and Recreation for year-round water aerobics classes offered Monday – Thursday, 9-10 a.m.  During the winter months, classes are conducted at the indoor pool at Villas of Sedona, 120 Kallof Pl..

Two types of classes are offered to keep participants of most fitness levels engaged and coming back.  Both classes offer a low-impact aerobic exercise, allowing the participant to work at their own pace while toning muscles, increasing range of motion and raising their heart rate.

On Mondays and Wednesdays water aerobics is led by seasoned instructor Achmed Valk. After a gentle warm-up, you'll ease into the exercises using your own body weight and water resistance dumbbells and equipment. Easy on the joints, these 60 minutes of water fun will have you splashing your way to improved strength.

Aqua Zumba is an invigorating, low-impact aquatic exercise class held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, led by Zumba extraordinaire Danielle Holman. Also known as the Zumba "pool party," Aqua Zumba gives new meaning to the idea of a refreshing workout. Integrating the Zumba philosophy with traditional aquatic fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba classes blend it all together into a workout that's cardio-conditioning, body-toning and exhilarating.

The cost is $5 per class, or $40 for 10 classes, or $80 for 20 classes.

The last day to visit the Sedona Community Pool is Sunday, Nov, 12.  View the pool fall schedule and learn about other programs and events at sedonaaz.gov/parks.
