Post Date:05/31/2018 12:15 p.m.

SEDONA, Ariz. -- To protect Oak Creek from pollutants, and as part of administering the Stormwater Quality Management Program, the city of Sedona Public Works Department is requesting public comment on their Stormwater Management Program. This public outreach also helps maintain program compliance with the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality.

The quality management program carries out what is detailed in the overarching Stormwater Management Program, which identifies steps the city will take to enhance the quality of water that drains from the stormwater system. It also addresses activities that may result in stormwater pollution from construction sites, existing developments, government agencies, and residents or tourists. The plan does not, however, deal with the volume of water the system handles.

“We value the public input we receive from residents and will use it in future management program updates,” says Michael Righi, assistant engineer.

More information is available on the city website by using the search term "stormwater."

The deadline for comments is June 30, submitted to the Public Works Department at 102 Roadrunner Dr. or via e-mail to Michael Righi at
