The City of Sedona requires businesses that are located within the city limits to obtain a business license. If you are located outside the city limits and have a City of Sedona tax liability you are required to obtain a business license. You may apply for a business license at the City of Sedona Community Development Department, 102 Roadrunner Drive, or download an application.
Please remember that it is unlawful for any business to operate within the City limits without first having procured a current business license from the City of Sedona.
**SHORT TERM VACATION RENTALS**
If you own a short term vacation rental, you are required to obtain a business license by January 1, 2017. Please allow 2-3 weeks for application processing. The process of obtaining a business license will also require you to obtain a transaction privilege tax license from the Arizona Department of Revenue. Short term vacation rentals are required to remit transaction privilege tax at the same rate as a hotel (transient occupancy tax). Sedona has two counties, Coconino and Yavapai which have slightly different tax rates. Please use the link below to obtain your transaction privilege tax license from the Arizona Department of Revenue.
For additional information or questions on how to apply for a new business license or to renew your business license, please contact the Finance Department at (928) 204-7185 or email businesslicense@SedonaAZ.gov.
The City of Sedona is returning to the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) for collection of our Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) effective January 1, 2016.
For TPT reporting periods prior to January 2016 use the Revenue Discovery Systems (RDS) tax form and submit with payment to RDS or directly to the City of Sedona. Starting with your January 2016 reporting period use the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) tax form and submit with payment to (ADOR).
