Field Operation Divisions



The Field Operation Division is supervised by Lieutenant Lucas Wilcoxson. The Field Operation Division consists of uniformed patrol, traffic unit, K-9 program, uptown community officers, and the school resource officer program (SRO).

Patrol Division: uniformed patrol is divided into squads supervised by a Patrol Sergeant responsible for supervision of officers assigned to specific patrol areas. 

The Patrol Division patrols 18.6 square miles of Sedona. The officers' primary responsibilities are to respond to calls for service, investigate crimes against persons and property, enforce traffic laws, investigate traffic accidents, and make arrests when necessary. The Patrol Section operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays.

Traffic Unit: the traffic unit is under the direct supervision of the Field Support Commander, and consists of a motor officer and one commercial vehicle officer. The primary purpose of traffic unit members is the reduction of traffic crashes through vigorous, fair and impartial enforcement of state and city ordinances.  Other duties include investigation of traffic crashes, performing select traffic enforcement, commercial vehicle inspection, child safety seat inspection/installation, and DUI saturation patrols. Click here for more traffic unit information.

K-9 program: The K-9 program consists of handler Officer Stephanie Foley and K-9 Dalan. The K-9 unit is avalaible for searches involving persons and narcotics, and is also trained as a bite unit.
