Field Operation Division
The division is supervised by Lt. Stephanie Foley and consists of uniformed patrol, traffic unit, K-9 program, Uptown community officers, and the school resource officer program.
Patrol Section. Uniformed patrol is divided into squads supervised by a sergeant responsible for 18.6 square miles of Sedona. Officers respond to calls for service, investigate crimes against persons and property, enforce traffic laws, investigate traffic accidents, and make arrests when necessary. The Patrol Section operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays.
Traffic Unit. Under the direct supervision of the Field Support Commander, consists of a motor officer and one commercial vehicle officer. Duties include prevention of accidents, investigation of traffic crashes, performing select traffic enforcement, commercial vehicle inspection, child safety seat inspection/installation, and DUI saturation patrols.
K-9 program. Consists of a handler and K-9. The K-9 unit assists with searches involving persons and narcotics, and is also trained as a bite unit.
Support Services Division
The division comprises the investigation, communication, records, evidence, and public relations units. It is supervised by Lt. Lucas Wilcoxson.
Investigation Unit is responsible for investigating all major crime scenes, including but not limited to sex crimes, crimes against children, financial crimes and violent crimes. They may investigate burglaries, thefts and other related crimes. The unit works closely with other law enforcement agencies and county attorneys offices.
Partners Against Narcotic Trafficking targets street-level drug dealers. If you have information about drug activities in your neighborhood call the Verde Valley office at 928-639-6999 or Prescott area office at 928-778-0558.
Communications Center handles emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching and receiving information via radio from officers, and receiving information from Arizona and national databases.
Records Department maintains and distributes police records. Vehicle accident reports can be obtained at crashdocs.org for a $7.50 fee. If the report is not available call us at 928-282-3100 to obtain the report for a small fee.
School Resource Officer. The officer is based at Sedona Red Rock High School and works with administrators and students to ensure school safety.
Evidence/Property processes all evidence, found property, and property for safe keeping. To schedule a time to release property call Larry Woodruff from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the police department main number (928) 282-3100.
Public fingerprinting is conducted every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and on the first and third Saturdays of the month from 9-11 a.m,. There is no Saturday fingerprinting on holiday weekends.
The fee is $7.50 during scheduled hours or $15 during other hours, dependent on officer availability. Please bring exact change or check and a photo I.D.
