Traffic officers. Traffic Unit officers' primary objective is the reduction of  accidents through vigorous but fair and impartial enforcement of state law and city ordinances. The goals can be accomplished through saturation style patrol, specific problem areas, or complaints against specific vehicle and operators are all effective tools.

Our officers also responsible for traffic crash investigation, VIN etching events, child safety seat inspections, and DUI investigations. Residents can request extra patrols or placement of the speed trailer in a problem area.

Radar trailer.  The Speed Monitoring Awareness Radar Trailer can be used in neighborhoods, school zones, construction sites, dangerous areas, or any other appropriate location to help promote compliance with the speed limit. The S.M.A.R.T. trailer is a portable, self-contained speed display unit that is placed on the roadway to display speeds of oncoming vehicles.
