Managing pedestrian movements will improve traffic flow and safety in Uptown, and help pedestrians more easily access businesses on both sides of Main Street. Improvements in hardscaping and landscaping will make Sedona's Uptown area more attractive and pedestrian-friendly.
Final designs for these projects will rely heavily on input from business and resident stakeholders. The possibilities include:
- A raised median with landscaping and/or art elements to improve the street's appearance and reduce uncontrolled pedestrian crossings.
- Crossing bridges with art elements improve safety and eliminate conflicts with traffic.
- Remove crosswalk at Arroyo Roble. Direct pedestrians to bridges with art elements at Wayside Chapel and Jordan Road
- Estimated cost is $7 million.
