Bike and pedestrian improvements in Sedona is a focus in the Transportation Master Plan. Because of this, several priority projects are currently under design right now.
Projects
The City is working on the following bike and pedestrian related projects.
Andante neighborhood shared-use path
City Council directed staff to begin outreach to the Andante neighborhood in Fiscal 2023 to determine where a sidewalk or shared-use path is best suitable for this neighborhood. Learn more on the Andante SUP project page.
Chapel shared use path
The Chapel Road shared use path from SR 179 to the Chapel of the Holy Cross is complete.
Dry Creek Road shared use path
Completed in 2021, phase one of this path on the south side of the road begins at the intersection of Two Fence Trail and Dry Creek Road and ends near the entrance to the Girdner Trail. Currently the City is beginning construction on phase two of the project, which will extend the pathway from the intersection of the Two Fence Trail to the intersection of Gringo Road.

Dry Creek to Navoti shared use path
In Spring of 2023, the City substantially completed phase 1 of a shared use path along White Bear that ends at the Sedona Charter School. Read more.
Soldiers Pass shared use path
Completed in early 2022, this path connects with a new parking area at the north end of the Posse Ground park property, and runs along Soldiers Pass Road, ending at Rim Shadows Drive. Additionally, permanent parking restrictions have been implemented within the public right-of-way north of Carruth Drive.
Thunder Mountain/Sanborn shared use path
Currently complete and combined with a drainage project, this path begins where the current sidewalk on Thunder Mountain ends and extends a mile to the intersection of Coffee Pot Road. Read more.
GO Sedona
In September 2020, City Council approved the GO! Sedona Pathways Plan that serves as a guiding document, outlining steps to make Sedona more walkable and bikeable. Visit the GO Sedona bike/walk web page.
